Senior Dispatcher

Supervisory track · Southern California · Hybrid-remote

All open positions

The Senior Dispatcher carries on-call dispatch authority for GTI Petro, mentors junior dispatchers, and handles escalations to the Service Manager. With deep Simpro or similar database expertise and full knowledge of petroleum service SLAs, this role is the bench for the Dispatch Supervisor position — we're looking for a candidate who brings some of that supervisory capability now and is ready to grow into full dispatch-team leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Own after-hours and weekend on-call dispatch authority; coordinate emergency response across all GTI service territories.
  • Handle complex escalations including parts-shortage, certification-mismatch, customer-VIP, and compliance-critical situations.
  • Mentor and develop Entry-Level and Mid-Level Dispatchers; deliver formal Simpro and SLA training.
  • Serve as escalation authority for SLA-at-risk work orders prior to engaging the Service Manager.
  • Coordinate cross-territory technician sharing during peak demand and emergency events.
  • Support day-to-day oversight of the dispatch desk — routing efficiency, technician utilization, and customer-communication quality.
  • Contribute to weekly dispatch performance reviews and support individual development sessions with junior dispatchers.
  • Maintain and continuously improve dispatch SOPs, escalation matrices, and SLA-protection protocols.
  • Generate executive-level dispatch performance reports for the Dispatch Supervisor and Service Manager.
  • Serve as primary dispatch liaison to Field Supervisors and the Compliance Manager.
  • Support Simpro administration, including user setup and routing-rule configuration, as needed.

Requirements & qualifications

  • 4+ years of dispatch experience, incl. 2+ years in petroleum or comparable field-service industry.
  • Prior supervisory/lead experience preferred, or demonstrated readiness for people-management.
  • Deep Simpro or similar proficiency, including reporting and administration.
  • Knowledge of petroleum service SLAs, OEM warranty programs, and regulatory priority calls.
  • Demonstrated capability for after-hours on-call coverage on a rotating schedule.
  • Strong written/verbal communication across field, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated mentorship and team-development capability.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience a plus.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision with company-paid premium contribution.
  • 401(k) retirement plan, voluntary enrollment.
  • 10 paid vacation days/year, accruing after the 90-day introductory period.
  • 5 paid sick days/year, available after 90 days.
  • 8 paid company holidays.
  • Life insurance; voluntary supplemental life, AD&D, and disability coverage.
  • Performance-based bonus tied to dispatch KPIs (SLA, utilization, customer satisfaction).
  • Company-issued laptop and mobile device.
  • Hybrid work flexibility.
  • Ergonomic workstation setup and home-office reimbursement (where applicable).
  • Paid professional development (QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace, etc.) with a growth path toward Dispatch Supervisor.
  • Annual performance review with merit-based wage progression; on-call lead premium during active weeks.
